A filigree stud opens into a wide fluted crescent, ribbed like a fan and tipped with a clear pear stone at the centre. Inside the crescent hangs a teardrop of ivory shell with a gold kundan-style flower laid over it, and the whole arc is rimmed with gold beads on small links so the outline stays in motion.

  • Gold-plated finish over a base-metal alloy
  • Ivory shell teardrop centre with an applied gold floral motif
  • A fluted crescent arch with a clear pear-cut crown stone
  • Gold bead fringe on individual links, right around the arc
  • Post-and-push-back stud fitting

Cream, gold and ivory shell is a bridal palette — this is the pair for a mehendi or a haldi where a lehenga is already doing enough, or for a reception saree in tissue or organza. Wear your hair back so the crescent keeps its full width. The oxidised version of the same idea is the white stone ghungroo chandbali.

Materials & finish

Oxidised silver or gold-plated finish over a base-metal alloy. Stones are cut and cabochon glass in kundan-style settings; pearls are faux. This is imitation jewellery, not precious metal or gemstone.

Care

Keep away from water, perfume and hairspray, and store each pair separately so the finishes do not rub. Wipe with a dry cloth after wearing.
